The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) will hold two virtual meetings on Oct. 29 on the Tioga Pathway Project, which would transport natural gas to pipelines that extend into New York state and beyond.
The project would involve building 20 miles of new pipeline in Tioga and Potter counties in north-central Pennsylvania, just south of the New York state line. It would also involve replacing nearly 4 miles of existing 12-inch pipeline with 20-inch pipeline, along with modifications at an existing compressor station in Potter County.
National Fuel Supply Corp., the company planning the project, told FERC that the project will deliver gas to “a wide range of markets in the United States and Canada.” If built, it would be capable of transporting up to 190 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day.
The first virtual meeting on the scope of environmental issues associated with the project will be at 10 a.m. Eastern on Oct. 29, 2024, with the second held at 4 p.m. Eastern the same day. FERC will accept comments on the scope of environmental issues to address until Nov. 4, 2024. See the public notice for more information.
