The Federal Energy and Regulatory Commission (FERC) is requesting comments and will hold public meetings next week on a natural gas pipeline proposed by TC Energy.
The company’s Heartland Project is a proposal to build parallel pipelines along 67.3 miles of its existing ANR pipeline in Wisconsin and Illinois. TC Energy also plans to add three new compressor stations and two new meter stations, as well as upgrading and expanding one existing compressor station and four existing meter stations. See the map of the proposed changes here on the project’s website.
FERC will host two public scoping sessions to identify specific environmental issues and concerns associated with the proposal. Meetings will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, from 4 - 6:30 p.m. at the Yorkville Public Library in Yorkville, Illinois, and Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Pittsfield Community Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Written comments are due by 5 p.m. Eastern on Aug. 21, 2024. See the public notice for more information on the meetings and how to submit public comments.
