Company plans 154-mile natural gas pipeline from East Texas to Louisiana

A subsidiary of Houston-based Boardwalk Pipelines is planning a new project meant to move gas to western Louisiana.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is accepting comments on Gulf South Pipeline's application to build the Texas Gateway Project. This project would entail building a 154-mile pipeline traveling from Panola County, Texas, southwest of Shreveport, Louisiana, to Beauregard Parish, Louisiana, north of Lake Charles.

The project also includes a new compressor station in San Jacinto County, Texas, and modifying existing compressor stations and metering facilities. If constructed, the project would be able to transport up to 1.8 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day to liquified natural gas exporters, electric utilities, and industrial consumers.

FERC is accepting comments on the proposed project until July 31. See the public notice for more information.
